With the penny placed in one of the corners, what happens in regards to the move ??

Move it to a wall, then move one from the opposite corner to the adjacent wall.

I also noticed if you keep up on the moves and you end up with one coin at each corner...you can switch it so you have 3 piles of 13 coins, and then there aren't any more moves. So in this sense 12 coins can be added..If you want to keep your original corners, you can only but about 6...8 if you are lucky.

Ok it is harder to explain with words than I thought but what Scott said made sense. Keep in mind the corners get counted twice so, move the coin to the middle so the new coin doesn't get counted twice...if the coin gets put in the middle, take one off that edge's corner and put it to an adjacent wall (not the same wall) then they should all add to 13. it is in Steinmeyer's Impuzzibilities I do believe...if you have that in your stock...
